Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are now open and may close on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the subsequent requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house with a combined gross family income that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined household earnings isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and wish not submit any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open website to all South African citizens and permanent residents from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the proper Identification Document numbers, nsfas status check names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are studying or plan to study in a public university or TVET college in South nsfas status Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
